Name the ambition
Choose a name you’ll recognize, such as Emergency fund. Keep your first goal simple and meaningful.
CHAPTER 03 OF 06 / Goals
Turn an ambition into a target and keep your recorded progress in view.
FIRST, A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE
Family adds goals and household tools. Think of something you'd like to save for. Now give it a name. Let's use an emergency fund with a target of $3,000. If you've already saved $750, you're a quarter of the way there. As your savings change, update that amount in Goals. You're recording progress here, not transferring money. In the next page, move the example amount and watch your progress take shape.
THE IDEA, IN A FEW WORDS
A clear target gives you something to work toward. A recorded amount lets you see how far you’ve come.
Choose a name you’ll recognize, such as Emergency fund. Keep your first goal simple and meaningful.
Enter your target and the amount already saved. A $750 recorded amount toward $3,000 is 25% progress.
Update the saved amount when your savings change. Editing a goal doesn’t transfer money. Adding and editing goals requires Personal Plus or higher.
A SMALL MOMENT TO TRY IT
Move the recorded savings amount. The example target stays at $3,000.
$2,250 left to reach the example target.
This is a learning example. Nothing is saved to your financial workspace.
Give one goal a name, a target, and an honest starting amount.
